Te Chai Chia Pudding

Sweet Iced Chai

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon of Madura Te Chai loose leaf tea
  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy like almond milk, coconut milk, etc.)
  • 2-4 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Ground cinnamon and a pinch of ground cardamom for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh fruit to top

 

Instructions 

  1. Heat 2 cups of milk in a saucepan over medium heat, but do not let it boil.
  2. Add the Madura Tea leaf tea to the milk and let them steep for 5-7 minutes to infuse. 
  3. Strain milk to remove the tea leaves and let cool
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the brewed chai-infused milk, chia seeds, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract (if using).
  5. Stir the mixture well to ensure that the chia seeds are evenly distributed.
  6. Leave in large bowl or add to jars for easy consumption
  7. Cover, chill and rest: The chia seeds will absorb the liquid and create a pudding-like consistency.
  8. After the chia pudding has rested, give it a good stir to redistribute the chia seeds. 
  9. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or maple syrup if needed.
  10. Serve the Chai Chia Pudding in individual bowls or glasses.
  11. Garnish with fresh fruit

 

If desired, sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon and a pinch of ground cardamom on top of each serving for extra flavour and a touch of spice.
